Circus and magic cast spell at Tagore Theatre

Chandigarh: The French group Tour de Cirque presented a circus-cum-magic show 'Derriere la Porte (Behind the Door)' at Tagore Theatre here on Wednesday. The show was performed by French artists Marion Celine, Alice Achard and Farid Abed, while Gaelle Aude Rene gave the music.
The show was coordinated by Shilpi Sharma, cultural coordinator at Alliance Francaise, Sector 36.'Behind the door' presents the unusual meeting of two characters on a scaffolding.
Their theme structure gives them a breeding ground, nooks to hide and a thousand spaces to explore. The characters strung surprise effects using props, played with time and space, confusing the audience and transporting them into a dream world.
Farid Abed says Tour de Cirque has done many shows across India and abroad. The troupe has already performed 10-12 shows in Bangalore, Pune, Trivandrum, Kolkata, Delhi and Puducherry. Students of Bhavan Vidyalaya and YPS, Mohali saw the show. "It was a complete package of laughter and entertainment for the students to enjoy, regardless of their age," said Bhupindra Singh, a teacher at YPS-Mohali.
